Snowdonia Balanced Fund
This fund aims to provide long term growth from a portfolio of investments. The fund is allowed to invest up to 85% of its assets into equities, both UK and global. Again the fund can only invest into collective funds. As the name suggests this is a balanced fund and so will hold cash deposits, fixed interest securities and money market instruments. Up to 15% of the fund’s assets may be invested in commercial property at any point.
It is not designed to produce an income, so only accumulation units are available.
This fund will normally have a higher exposure to equities than the income fund so carries a higher risk grading. We would consider that this fund holds a medium risk grading. It should be seen as a medium to longer-term investment, i.e. a minimum of 5 years. This fund rests in the Balanced Managed Sector as defined by the Investment Management Association.
The Fund is managed by Isabel Herrera. Isabel has 7 years investment industry experience, joining Sanlam Fund Solutions in May 2008. Prior to this, she worked at Credit Agricole Asset Management selecting funds for the Institutional Sales and Private Banking teams, followed by Schroders in the Investment Unit of the Private Bank. Her main areas of expertise are fund selection, asset allocation and fund of funds construction. Isabel is a member of the CFA Institute and holds the IMC qualification.
The Sanlam Group has been involved in multi-manager investment since 1999, principally managing international assets in global markets. Sanlam Fund Solutions, part of the Sanlam Group, is dedicated to active multi-management investing. Sanlam Fund Solutions assets under management are in excess of US$15bn (as at 30 June 2008).
